New South Wales’ Jo Palmer named the 2019 AgriFutures™ Rural Women's Award National Winner & Victoria’s Claire Moore awarded National Runner-Up

By now you've no doubt heard about the winner of the AgriFuturesTM Rural Women's Award Gala which was announced at a gala dinner in Canberra on Wednesday, 11 September 2019.

Congratulations to New South Wales remote work advocate, Jo Palmer, founder of Pointer Remote Roles, who was named the 2019 AgriFutures™ Rural Women’s Award National Winner, with Victoria’s Claire Moore the National Runner Up.

The AgriFutures™ Rural Women’s Award, supported for the past decade by Westpac, is Australia’s leading Award in acknowledging and supporting the critical role women play in rural and regional businesses, industries and communities. It is an opportunity to celebrate and inspire the next generation of female leaders across Australia.

Thank you to all of our amazing finalists and our Alumni for their contribution to making our award such an outstanding success. Thank you also to the organisations and individuals who made the effort to attend our event.

Koorabup oats to open areas to hay production in WA

A new oats variety with improved disease resistance is set to open up new areas to hay production in Western Australia. The new variety, called Koorabup was released at a property near Highbury, in WA’s Great Southern region.

AgriFutures Australia is one of a number of organisations helping connect Australian farmers to a new digital platform which is a one-stop shop for the latest in agtech. Called the AgTech Finder, it’s an initiative led by Food Agility CRC, in partnership with IAG, KPMG, NFF, MLA and AgriFutures Australia. Food Agility CRC is a $150 million innovation hub harnessing the power of digital technology.
